Dr. Mohammed Jimoh.

DJC was founded in Berlin in February 2026 and is led by Dr. Mohammed Jimoh. Over more than two decades inside global chemical and pharmaceutical groups he held positions spanning both of the firm’s practices: how to govern safety-critical work when it is increasingly externalized, and how to build and lead operations in African markets.

The firm exists because both decisions are routinely underweighted at board level — treated as procurement questions or expansion questions when they are governance questions carrying legal duty of care and material commercial risk.

His most recent industrial role was cross-functional expert for process and plant safety and externalization at Bayer (2020–2024), where he developed and led the global rollout of a multi-year strategy to externalize PPS services across modeling and technical safety. The mandate included the governance framework for engaging external partners across safety laboratory, pressure equipment and machine safety, and coordination with central procurement and regional teams. From 2021 he was also deputy head of quality assurance for the safety laboratory, responsible for the internal quality regime against GLP and ISO/IEC 17025 and for external audits. He established the group’s in-house process safety academy and led practitioner and hazard-analysis training. The program received a group-level performance award in 2021; he organized a group process safety symposium in 2022, and organized and presented at a regional process safety conference in 2023.

Earlier, at Schering AG (later Bayer Schering Pharma) in Berlin (2002–2007), he joined as a safety engineer and from 2005 led the quality, safety and environmental management group, responsible for process and plant safety work under BImSchG: PHA and HAZOP programs, explosion protection and pressure-relief studies, statutory safety reports, and the regulatory interface on permitting and new requirements — including the conversion concept for the VOC Verordnung, which secured regulatory approval through extended negotiation with the authority.

He holds the Fachkunde for Störfallbeauftragte — the officer an operator appoints under the German Störfallverordnung to advise on major-accident prevention — from state-recognized courses under § 7 Nr. 2 of the 5. BImSchV (Haus der Technik, 2003; TÜV Nord, 2005), and the CE-Beauftragter (CE conformity officer) certificate for machine safety and CE marking (TÜV Rheinland PersCert, 2022). Further qualifications: internal quality auditor ISO 9001 / ISO 19011 (Lloyd’s Register, 2021), the 40-hour TOPPS intensive seminar for process and plant safety practitioners (2023), good laboratory practice (GLP), a laboratory quality management course on ISO/IEC 17025 (Klinkner), pressure relief and containment of hazardous substances (DECHEMA), explosion protection (VDI), and project and change management.

Appointed to senior executive grade in 2014, he served from 2014 to 2019 as Managing Director of Bayer Middle Africa Limited in Lagos, founding and building the operating company with full P&L and people responsibility, heading marketing and sales for pharma and consumer health, and acting as innovation ambassador for West and Central Africa. The mandate covered the full operator agenda: local supply-chain build, market analysis, corporate governance and compliance, and the agency business for Covestro across West and Central Africa.

The Lagos role followed four years as project manager for market development at Bayer MaterialScience in Leverkusen (2010–2014), covering EMEA market development and analysis, technical support to sales and marketing, and industrial marketing projects. Before that he was head of marketing and sales for West Africa at Bayer’s representative office in Accra (2008–2010), building the regional sales team with on-the-ground responsibility for market analysis and reporting. From 2019 to 2020, as regional coordination country projects manager for the Greater Middle East and Africa region in Leverkusen, he steered cross-border country projects including the move to direct trading in Nigeria, process optimization across West and Central Africa, and operational compliance in Nigeria.

He is a co-founder of the German Business Club Nigeria, a forum for German and Nigerian commercial interests.

After his first degree he served with the National Youth Service Corps in Oguta, Nigeria, as a secondary school teacher (1990–1991), then moved to Germany and had his qualifications recognized (1991–1992). At TU Berlin he completed the Dipl.-Ing. (1992–1998) with a diploma project on the design and construction of a pilot-scale reactive distillation column, and then joined the scientific staff at the Institute for Process and Plant Engineering, Technische Universität Berlin (1998–2002), conducting modeling, simulation and safety analysis of distillation processes under disturbed operation, and designing and operating pilot-plant installations. His doctoral work, completed in 2004, formed the technical foundation for much of the later governance work.

He holds a Dr.-Ing. in process sciences (TU Berlin, 2004) — dissertation: Pressure relief in distillation columns under disturbed operation: modeling, simulation and experiment — and a Dipl.-Ing. in energy and process engineering from the same institution (1998). His first degree is a B.Sc. in chemical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria (1990).

The decisions that matter most to industrial leaders — what to externalize, where to grow — are not procurement decisions or expansion decisions. They are governance decisions. They look easy on paper and become difficult only after they are made. The work of an advisor is to make that difficulty visible before the commitment, not after.
